Frequently Asked Questions

1. What should we wear?

Your photos are a reflection of you and your family, so I suggest dressing in something that your family is comfortable in! If you’re most comfortable hanging out in sweatshirts or pajamas, let’s do that! If you want your family to be dressed up and color coordinated, that’s great too! I would suggest searching online idea boards for photoshoot outfits! If you would like discuss ideas with me ahead of time, I am happy to chat with you about it!

2. Can my pet be in the photos?

As a dog mom and an avid animal-lover, I say...bring it on! I love capturing the love between you and the furry members of your family! Whether it be dogs, cats, horses, etc., I’ve got you covered! I also love taking a few extra minutes after we’ve finished to capture some candid pet shenanigans!

3. I'm worried about all of my kids looking at the camera.

I have been a teacher for over 10 years and can tell you that kids will be kids...all the time! I have patience and understanding of children and their behavior. My suggestion for you is to embrace the individual personalities of your children, because that is what I’m looking to capture! I want to get those shots of you laughing, dancing, and playing with your kids - in addition to those beautiful, organized family photos. The more relaxed you are, the happier your children will be to smile for the camera!

4. Do you offer digital files, prints, or albums?

Your photo products will be delivered as digital download files in an online gallery. I do not offer printed products at this time, but I would be happy to point you in the direction of a quality photo printing.

5. When Should I book my senior Session?

Senior pictures are typically taken during the summer or fall of your senior year. With the high heat of Virginia, I would recommend scheduling for May or June, or late August through October. Getting your photos done earlier will allow you to meet yearbook deadlines. However, waiting until springtime is not too late and its a beautiful time to take photos!

6. CAn I bring Props to my Senior Photo session?

Your senior photos should be an expression of your interests and personality at this moment in time. So bring anything that helps broadcast who you are!


Here are some examples of props:

Letter jacket, jersey, or sport uniform; sports equipment; college memorabilia to signify where you’re headed next year; graduation cap/gown/sash; your car; musical instrument; favorite book; camera; dog, cat, horse, etc; flowers, hats, sunglasses, scarves, blankets.

7. Can I request Specific Poses or Shots?

Absolutely! I am here to capture YOUR vision of your family. So if you have found ideas of poses online or photos that you are dying to have captured of your family, I welcome you sending them to me ahead of time so that I can plan it out!

8. How long till I receive the final photos?

You will receive an email with information on how to receive your photos within 2 weeks following our session.
